Compare and contrast Historical and contemporary ways art forms have been combined.

Compare and contrast the ways which two practitioners have combined different art forms ans styles of performance. Style  DV8 use an eclectic range of styles throughout their work these include; pedestrian, contemporary, improvisation and verbatim. DV8's style is similar to Pina Bausch's as as they both use real life experiences, Pina Bausch uses the idea of fear and uses her dancers fears in her work whereas in DV8's work they use verbatim from interviews and puts it into their work.  Movement type  Pina Bausch uses a big ensemble of dancers and uses balletic movements. whereas DV8 use gestural movements to get their point across to the audience. skills workshop 4: Versatile actor dancers- DV8

In this workshop I explored the combination o physical theatre (movement, gesture, prop and vocal) in the style of the company DV8. We explored a topical issue of the arrest of Rosa Parks in 1955 to coincide with today's campaign of black lives matter. This is really prominent as we are celebrating Black History month. We used the styles and techniques of DV8 to combine art forms to create thought provoking factual scenes.  DV8 like to take risks physically and topically by using taboo subjects for example sexuality, religion and tolerance/ intolerance. DV8 use a range of different dancers and even include dancers with disabilities. They reflect of real relationships and real themes at the time, they use verbatim to use the real dialogue taken from interviews. They use gestures, and physically demanding moves and lifts to challenge the 'norm'. They use the relationships between genders, people with different abilities and sexuality's and be able to control and convey th...

DV8  DV8 was formed in 1989 in London by Lloyd Nelson. DV8 like to take risks physically and topically by using taboo subjects for example sexuality, religion and tolerance/ intolerance. DV8 use a range of different dancers and even use dancers with disabilities. They reflect of real relationships and real themes at the time, they use verbatim to use the real dialogue taken from interviews. They use gestures, and physically demanding moves and lifts to challenge the 'norm'. They use the relationships between genders, people with different abilities and sexuality's. Their movements and gestures are episodic.   In 'enter Achilles' (1996) it is set in a shabby British pub and through the use of music, and lighting conveys through movement the cruel exploration of the male psych. The managed to succeed as they did their own research by sitting and observing men in their own habitat in pubs.  In  'To be straight with you' (2009) it explores the themes of toleranc...
